Aaand we get junglish here. Denis Ryzhov a.k.a. Anderdog hails from Elektrostal, Moscow Region. Denis started his way in music in the middle 00’s as a guitar player in post-hardcore bands. As he became a family man he stopped touring, rehearsing, and other band-related stuff — and put the guitar away. In 2013 he started to record demos tied in IDM, jungle, bass, and instrumental hip-hop. So he goes. Check the masterfully crafted and emotionally rich solo releases on Mestnost label, Microdog project (with Mi Croevkhas), his beatmaker joints via Зрение (Vision) project.

‘Brass Dog’ is a mixture of dub with the brass section consisting of dogs (it’s a fact, we checked), intelligent jungle with gorgeously unquiet ambient harmonies, and… we won’t spoil more, it’s worth exploring. In the Anderdog’s tradition, the track is everchanging and moves to the new grounds with every turn. But, first of all, it doesn’t lose the soul.

Our Glaswegian pal Scopeotaku versioned the track. He slowed things down a bit and put ‘Brass Dog’ in an outer space dub chamber. But no calm in the Universe again! The version adds more tension sonically and verbally. Is it true that you are revolutionary? ©
